One of the stunning images of the 13 year old Daisys capturing the loneliness of lockdown.
The annual Young Creative Awards take a lively look at the issues and themes of concern to young creatives in Nottinghamshire.
Participants used their creativity to address key issues such as racism, gender stereotypes, mental health, homelessness, female body image and of course the ongoing effects of Covid-19.
Daisy Bartram from Nuthall was a winner in the photography category.
The creative youngster attending the Kimberley School was praised by the jury for her stunning images that capture the loneliness of lockdown.
The annual awards are open to anyone aged 11 to 24 who live, study or work in the Nottingham area.
This year almost 600 young people took part in the awards.
As the winner, Daisy received a cash prize as well as special presentation and development opportunities.
The Young Creative Awards are run by the registered charity Young Creatives Nottingham.
Andrew Tucker – himself a 2019 creative writing winner – is now the charity’s trustee and was a judge for that year.
He said: “It is an excellent opportunity for Nottingham’s young people to grow into their talents and make valuable contacts.
“For those looking to embark on a creative career, this is an opportunity to be seized.”
