Big Notts Survey: Local residents urged to help shape Nottinghamshire County Council’s 10-year plan

The “Big Notts Survey”, which opened on August 2nd, is available to all residents of the district and is intended to be used to improve their everyday lives.

The focus is on questions on topics such as health, the economy and Covid, the results of which shape the council’s 10-year plan.

The agency will send a leaflet to 340,000 households inviting them to participate before the poll ends on September 19th.

Nottinghamshire County Council has launched its Big Notts Survey, which collects local residents’ opinions.

The results will then be discussed and debated by the district councils in the autumn.

Vice-Chairman Bruce Laughton said: “We are tearing up the process with our 10 year plan and this time felt what is the point in making a plan without talking to the people of Nottinghamshire?

“We need to have a conversation with the people of Nottinghamshire to ask what they want with us.

“While it won’t interfere with the day-to-day operations of the agency, it will add ambition to our plan and give us the thought processes to change the way service is delivered.

“We want them to ‘expose everything’ and give us their opinion. We want to hear warts and everything else so we can hear what they are saying. “

Coun Laughton said the agency particularly aims to reach communities that may feel “left behind”.

“I hope they will get in touch and give us ideas on how to make things better for them,” he added.

“We’re going to ask questions about services, and then about the impact Nottinghamshire County Council has on people’s lives.

“But then we will also ask questions about what is rattling in her cage, what annoys her and where, in her opinion, we can improve.

“We ask if there is anything in their daily life that the Council should be involved in that could be improved. We need them to participate. “

Residents can also pick up a copy from libraries, children’s centers, and community buildings from Monday 9 August.
