A couple from Nottingham want to give Airbnbs and other short term rentals guests and hosts a “worry-free” experience by creating a city-based management company.
Owned by the Ricky and Rohini Syal couple, Pass the Keys Nottingham is the Nottingham branch of the company that manages properties across the UK.
It is the UK’s largest property management company and has now expanded into the East Midlands and opened a franchise in the heart of the city.
Pass the Keys enables potential hosts to see how much they could make from renting their property and offers a land service to have their property managed from closer to Nottingham.
Ricky Syal was born and raised in the city so knows the area well and Rohini Syal, although originally from Newcastle, has lived in Nottingham for twenty years.
Together, the couple have over 30 years of strong sales and marketing experience in the telecommunications and marketing media industries.

Commenting on Pass the Keys’ launch of the Nottingham franchise, Ricky and Rohini said, “Nottingham is one of the East Midland’s busiest hubs with major business, travel and tourist attractions, and is also a hotspot for families and friends visiting university residents.
“The city itself has over 37 million visitors every year, the highest number in the entire region.
“Nottingham is a vibrant city that offers both history and culture with its own castle and caves, fine dining and nightlife. Nottinghamshire also has ‘abodes’ in Sherwood Pines Forest Park, which give visitors the true Robin Hood experience.
“It is well known that the rental income from Airbnb and short-term rentals is far higher than with standard single leases, HMO (apartment buildings) and buy-to-let.
“What puts most business owners off, however, is how time-consuming and cumbersome it can be to communicate with guests 24/7 and manage their Airbnb hotel, often alongside their daily work.
