Carlton Town FC players and employees are affected by the death of the club’s popular commercial manager, Brian Dennett.
Mr Dennett sadly died in the hospital after contracting Covid-19 earlier this week.
Brian had been with the club for nearly 20 years and was initially press secretary before being promoted to commercial director.
Mick Garton, chairman of Carlton Town, said he couldn’t remember a day when he received as many text messages as news of Mr. Dennett’s death was filtered out.
“He was a brilliant commercial manager who raised thousands for this football club, even from his hospital bed. He contacted a sponsor to remind them to sponsor an upcoming game. But above all a close friend and he’s going to leave a big hole in many ways, ”he said.

Club legend Martin Ball, who still plays for the club, also paid tribute to the club’s website.
He said: “Brian was a real Nottingham non-league man and one of the real good guys in football.
“He embodied everything Carlton Town is and going to home games without Bri being one of the first I talk to while he’s eating his cookies will certainly take some getting used to.
“No matter how many times you’ve seen him or how long you’ve known him, he can keep people talking about football outside of the league for hours, and the pouring out of tweets and messages I’ve seen in the past 24 hours is the only one Way that I have I can imagine even explaining how much he was loved as a person and as a friend. “
Northern Prime Minister’s umpire Martin Fryer contacted the club this afternoon on behalf of the umpires who all knew Brian was saying
“All the referees enjoyed talking to Brian and on match days it won’t be the same if he doesn’t come and laugh with us. Our thoughts go out to the club and its family. “
The club’s management has announced that the Academy Suite will be named in his honor on Miller’s Bill Stokeld Ground on Stoke Lane.
