McDonald’s is hiring employees in 15 restaurants in Nottinghamshire as part of its recruitment campaign

Dozens of jobs are open at McDonald’s fast food restaurants across Nottinghamshire as part of a massive recruiting campaign.

The burger giant plans to fill 20,000 jobs in its restaurants across the UK, with 15 restaurants in the city center and county currently promoting staff.

Vacancies are available on Milton Street, Clumber Street and Angel Row in town, Clifton, Netherfield, Bulwell, Edwalton, West Bridgford, Arnold, Valley Road, Nuthall Road and Castle Marina.

Jobs are also going on in Mansfield, Sutton-in-Ashfield and Newark.

Full-time and part-time positions are offered, ranging from crew members to managers and maintenance functions to cleaning staff. Some of the shifts are overnight.

As Covid restrictions continue to relax, the company expects increased staffing needs as it hopes more customers will enter its doors.

Job opportunities will also open up as the restaurant plans to launch 50 new restaurants across the UK over the next 12 months – though the chain has yet to announce locations for new fast food outlets.

McDonalds UK & Ireland CEO Paul Pomroy said: “There is no doubt that the pandemic has had a tremendous impact on the employment opportunities of many people and has threatened the future of high streets across the country.

“Our 1,400 restaurants are run by 200 local franchisees, which means we have a personal stake in each of our communities.

“It’s a huge responsibility, and the steps we announced today reflect our commitment to continue innovating and investing in the local communities and economies we serve.”

The job creation is part of a larger investment plan by McDonald’s to ensure that its restaurants, including the UK’s main streets, are sustainable and the experience meets the latest customer preferences and expectations.

It is expected to include upgrades for restaurants that are more “experiential” with a greater focus on “customization and personalization”.

There are plans to introduce “grab and go” options and better click-and-collect facilities in areas with a high workforce.

It also tests different restaurant layouts to accommodate the way customers use its restaurants at different times of the day
