Residents of a new home say there is a “terrible” problem with off-road bikers driving loudly late at night.
In Hucknall there are a number of new houses that were built on land and are known as the “Rolls-Royce housing estate” on a former airfield.
Although residents claim it has a great sense of community, noisy motorbikes that come off the road near the road late at night have caused problems for residents.
They say the bikes are very noisy and are churning up the country – which is becoming a real problem for people in the new and otherwise appealing neighborhood.
Police have now stepped up patrols in the area after local residents reported that the cyclists were causing problems for the people living there.
Maggie Coleman, 67, has lived on-site for more than 30 years. She said, “I live right across from the Rolls-Royce site – it’s definitely a problem here.
“The noise is worst at night, from around 9pm it’s so loud and that’s the worst thing I think.
“It happens many nights – even though I heard it during the day too. I’m glad the police are trying to get a grip on it.”
George Brown, 81, has been walking the area every day this year.

“You can see it a lot more in the wooded area,” he said.
“They go where the football fields are and unfortunately they tear them up in winter. I come here all the time, it’s a nice area and they don’t come on the sidewalks that often, which is good.”
Another resident who wanted to remain anonymous said: “It is a massive pain for everyone who lives here.
“It has been going on for a few years now and this area is particularly bad for it.
“I haven’t really heard them for the past few weeks as the police have come here and patrolled – I actually saw them here recently.
“You’re driving through the forest and the noise is absolutely terrible – it’s constant, it’s just all the time. You are also driving at dangerous speeds. There are a lot of families who live here.”
John Stevens, 70, told Nottinghamshire Live: “You can see all of the tire tracks on the ground from where they are going.
“I don’t live here, but I come here a lot and I’m not surprised that people have had enough of it.”
An Ashfield police spokesman said: “Local officers from the Hucknall Beat team were on foot on patrol around the Rolls Royce Estate after receiving reports of off-road bikes causing nuisance in the area.
“The Off Road Bike Team supported the Bulwell Neighborhood Policing Team and was also on the Rolls Royce Estate after receiving further reports of harassment about off-road bikes.
