At 3 a.m. on Sunday morning (July 25), the revelers flocked from Talbot Street to Goldsmith Street after leaving Rock City.
The top market was also particularly well attended from late Saturday afternoon.
It’s the first weekend since nightclubs have been able to open since the first lockdown in March last year.
Most of the legal restrictions, including social distancing and masks, were lifted at midnight on Monday, July 19.
Rock City bosses have urged night owls to do lateral flow tests and not take the trip if they have Covid symptoms.
Soon, clubbing will only be an option for those who have received two doses of a coronavirus vaccine.
The government’s plan to make coronavirus passports mandatory in nightclubs and venues with large crowds from September has been criticized by the city’s night sector.
