The appearance of a KFC branch in the city could be changed significantly.
The application, submitted on December 22nd, concerns the fitting of a new front door and a range of visual improvements to the restaurant at Springfield Retail Park in Hucknall Lane, Bulwell.
It is understood that the restaurant is currently closed for internal renovations.
Under the new proposals, a new access door would be fitted, as well as a new panel that would feature a sign telling delivery drivers where to go to pick up groceries.
The fast-food franchise would also redecorate the storefront with a lighted “Hello Bulwell” sign and new vinyl images of Colonel Sanders and chickens.
A number of clean-ups would also be carried out, including the cleaning and repainting of the brickwork and shop-front lighting fixtures.
According to the planning documents, no changes would be made inside the building.
In January, KFC unveiled ten locations in Nottinghamshire earmarked for potential new restaurants or drive-thrus.
The sites included were Castle Marina and Broad Marsh in the city, along with other sites in Arnold, Netherfield and Hucknall.
A KFC spokesman said: “Fear not the people of Bulwell, the wait is almost over. We love showing our restaurants TLC and our Hucknall Lane neighborhood is no exception – we’ll be back in February with a bang!”
The application is currently being considered by Nottingham City Council.
