As Covid restrictions are lifted and people are trying to get back into our town, towns and villages, one thing is on people’s minds – the virus.
There are still social distancing rules in place to make sure people limit its spread, especially if they take advantage of the now reopened pubs, bars, restaurants, gyms, and shops.
However, across Nottinghamshire, infection rates are generally falling and in more areas they are dropping to near zero.
And according to the government’s Covid dashboard, rates have been “suppressed” in 77 neighborhoods in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
This means that fewer than three cases of Covid have been recorded in the area over a seven-day period.
It is likely that their infection rates are either at or below the national average, which is currently 29 cases per 100,000 people.
The areas with almost no cases of virus are spread across the city and county, with rates suppressed in 20 neighborhoods of Nottingham.
That goes for the week leading up to April 11, the day before everything was reopened, according to data, and even includes Nottingham city center itself.
The dashboard numbers for prices only last through the week ending April 11th. Later dates are expected to be added in the coming days.
Elsewhere in the county, rates have been suppressed in 12 neighborhoods of Ashfield, along with eight in Bassetlaw and ten in Broxtowe.
Seven areas in Newark and Sherwood and the Gedling District were also suppressed, and another 13 in Rushcliffe.
Mansfield, however, has only one suppressed rate area – in warsop – and remains the Nottinghamshire area with the highest overall rate of infection.
However, this is less than last week and the city is no longer high on the list of infections across the UK.
Below is a list of all 77 areas with suppressed Covid infections, broken down alphabetically by local authority.
