Northern Ireland international Dale Taylor has joined League One club Burton Albion on loan until the end of the season.
he 19-year-old – who made his senior Northern Ireland debut in November 2021 in a World Cup qualifier against Lithuania – will join Dino Maamria’a Burton from Premier League outfit Nottingham Forest.
The former Linfield forward said: “I spoke to the manager and he said he’s had his eye on me for a while. When I played here (in pre-season) the fans were amazing and that was just for a pre-season game.”
Taylor explained that he is excited by the challenge of senior football and hopes to embrace the opportunity.
“Playing in League One is a great opportunity to gain experience of men’s football and I can’t wait to get started.
“It’s going to be tough and senior football will be different but hopefully I can keep up the scoring this season.”
Brewers manager Maamria – who played for Glentoran during the 1996/97 season – said: “We watched him a lot at Forest U23s and he always stood out – he fits in the way we like to play. He presses high and works hard.
“We believe he can add that threat going forward and can be a good addition for us.”
