In North East England, Darlington, Durham, Gateshead, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Newcastle upon Tyne, North Tyneside, Northumberland, Redcar and Cleveland, South Tyneside, Stockton-on-Tees and Sunderland are due to be hit by icy blasts as well.
The Met Office warning also extends to Blackpool, west Cheshire, Chester, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Halton, Lancashire and Merseyside.
Five or Northern Ireland’s six counties are also affected: County Antrim, County Down, County Fermanagh, County Londonderry and County Tyrone.
In Scotland, Dumfries and Galloway, East Lothian, Midlothian Council, Scottish Borders, East Ayrshire, South Ayrshire and south Lanarkshire will also see snow and ice.
