The Nutcracker ballet takes to the stage of Nottingham Theater Royal for four days

A ballet that brings beauty, gracefulness and awakens the Christmas spirit through the magic of dance, has arrived at Nottingham’s Theater Royal.

Key words to describe Tchaikovsky’s ballet, The Nutcracker played by Northern Ballet Sinfonia, are beauty, graceful, magical, contemporary, inspiring and dreamy.

The sell-out success will be at the Theater Royal until Saturday, November 19.

Giving life to each word, the ballet presents the viewer with beauty, from the costumes worn to the live orchestral music.

The way that the ballerinas and the dancers interpreted the characters and performed gracefully across the stage, coordinating movements, floating with the rhythm of the music, grabbed the audience’s attention.

It was a magical experience as snow falls upon the stage.

The 1982 two-act ballet brings to the stage an original timeless act with a twist of the modern world, including the Mouse King twerking.

The music echoing through the theater created an inspiring, yet dreamy, atmosphere in which the whole audience was gazing at the stage with focus and admiration.

The ballet tells the story of Clara who falls asleep and dreams adventures, from her passionate Nutcracker Prince, to a winter wonderland.

The ballet never gets old is the perfect reflection of the power and beauty of a mind that dreams.

It was an enchanted performance that brings out the best of childhood into all phases of life. It shows how imagination can float one into a magical world — MT
